It is that time of the year again where sections of the rails, sleepers and ballast are removed and replaced, the first job at Yorfalls has been completed and in the new year (2017) a start will be made at Mile Post 14.
Many volunteers spend around 9 months of the year to get the heavy machinery ready for 3 months work (actually just several shifts of the heavy plant machines during the winter renewal projects).
More information to follow, but the Plant section of the website has been updated to reflect the work carried out earlier in the year to get the plant machines ready!
The DVLR running evening takes place at the Yorkshire Museum of Farming at Murton YO19 5UF, on Friday 22nd July and commences at 1830 hours. It is envisaged that 4 locomotives will be in traffic.
Admission is £6.00 per person and includes light refreshments. All welcome to what promises to be an enjoyable evening.
