This vehicle is designed to tamp S+C or in other words Pointwork.
The normal NYMR Tamper is a Plain line tamper It is not able to tamp pointwork due to the Tamping banks not being possible to be operated independantly of each other or to be able to vary the amount of tamping tools in use at the same time. An S+C Tamper can do this, however although it can tamp plain line it can not do so at the same speed.
Operators cab at top.
Single tamping bank sideshifts across the frame as required during tamping.operations.
