Concrete broken up to approx 10m into the pit. Note the yellow paint mark showing limit.
Intention is to ease the curve over to the left / east. We think it might be possible to get an 8 chain radius here. We will have to see how it turns out.
Pit rd 3 a BJB 24-7-11
The offending location approx 4.5 ch curve into the pit and similar into siding.
Proposal is to move the whole S+C unit back towards the camera and ease the curve into the pit. Also we need to improve the clearance to the shed it is inches now.
Pit rd 1 a BJB 24-7-11
Pit road approach. Doesn't look too sharp does it?
Pit rd 4 a BJB 24-7-11
The pit will need to be shortened to allow the curve to move to the right.

Rail flaw TATA 2011
Recently the NYMR received some new rail from TATA at Scunthorpe. It was bought as non prime rail and the reason must be the roll marks in the top surface of the rail indicated by the key. These should grind out under traffic.
