Just in time, more ballast was brought into Newbridge by road, then deployed on the Levisham renewal site. 1.2 miles of renewal Regulating and Tamping was achieved in just 2 days!
The Tamping machine is new to the NYMR and arrived in June 2013 where nearly every weekend since June, volunteers have been working on the machine with repairs, maintenance, recommissioning, calibration and training. All this hard work has finally paid off.
With no breakdowns, this was quite an achievement working into the Friday night to allow running trains to commence the following day.
