NYMR Works
Newbridge pit road.
Today 20-3-12 the state of play was that rail has been replaced to a new alignment off the pit.
It now waits for shuttering to be constructed then concrete pouring before any more rail is laid. Access required for ready mix lorry. After which a plain line will be laid to reconnect to the yard trackwork. Once this is finalised we will then position a recovered turnout and reconnect the shed side siding.
This was the state of play Sunday afternoon 1-4-12 and no the date has nothing to do with it.
Next question “Where do we put the points for the siding?”
Falsgrave Signal Gantry.
The gantry was declared a listed structure and a new home was required to be found for it.
INVENSYS A signalling company responsible for the resignalling work at Scarborough that made the signal gantry redundant, has paid for the renovation of the gantry.
The NYMR has offered a new site, at Grosmont, for the signal however it has had to be heavily modified to suit the new situation.
I understand that about 15ft has been cut out of the span.
